Who can learn with ŌCSM?
We teach complete beginners through to advanced musicians across a wide range of ages. Lessons are tailored to each student’s experience, goals, learning style and musical interests.

Where are lessons held?
Lessons are offered at participating schools around Ōtautahi Christchurch, as well as through selected studio and community-based programmes.The available locations and lesson times will be shown during enrolment.
Are lessons held during school hours?
Many of our school-based lessons take place during the school day. We work with schools to minimise disruption and, wherever possible, schedule lessons during suitable classroom, break or activity times.Lesson times may rotate in some schools so that students do not regularly miss the same subject.
Do students need any previous musical experience?
No. We work with complete beginners, developing musicians and advanced students.Your child’s teacher will meet them at their current level and build a programme around their interests and goals.
Can adults enrol?
Yes. Adult lessons are available depending on teacher and location availability.
Can we enrol partway through a term?
Yes, provided a suitable lesson time is available. Fees will usually be adjusted based on the number of lessons remaining in the term.
Does enrolment automatically continue each term?
Yes. Enrolments roll over into the following term unless we receive notice of cancellation before the new term begins.This allows students to retain their regular teacher and lesson time.
